Is This Goodbye to Blackheads?

shills black mask review blog

The Shills purifying black peel off mask may sound very familiar to you, it's been very popular for quite some time now. I wanted to see what all the hype was about, so I bought the inexpensive mask from eBay and tried it out near enough straight away.

It's a very thick and gooey mask which I find so satisfying to apply. Like most masks, apply it to a clean but dry face and leave it on for 20-30 minutes. I leave mine on for the full thirty minutes. It tightens my face but it's not an uncomfortable tight feeling. Peeling it off is the worst part about it, it's so painful. The pain is worth it though as after peeling it off, my face looks mattified, brighter and feeling refreshed. You can also see the dirt and impurities on the bits you've peeled off, ew. But, it's good that you can see what the mask does.

It reduces the appearance of pores and blackheads but my stubborn blackheads have decided that they don't want to go anywhere just yet. I don't know how often you're meant to use this, I'm currently using it once a week as I'm worried that if I use it more, it'll dry my skin out. It thoroughly deep cleanses your skin which is why I fully recommend this. Although I'm not saying goodbye to blackheads just yet, I'm getting closer!

A Pink & White Outfit for a Chilly November Day

november 2016 ootd blog post

pink ootd blog post

Firstly, I have a couple of things to update you on, a few posts ago I mentioned that my camera lens packed up on me. I still haven't got it sorted (boooo), so I'm relying on my iPhone 5S and my little old Canon Powershot, which both really aren't great so I apologise for that. Also, after having the same hairstyle for seven odd years, I really wanted a change. So, I had a full fringe cut in. It's not a major change but it's different and I like it. It took a bit of time to get used to but every one says they like it and that it suits me. Anyway, cracking on with the post...

As it has become a lot chillier recently, I have been pulling out my scarves and hats. I don't usually wear hats in the Winter, just because I don't think many hats suit me. But, after spotting this cute fluffy bobble hat in Lakesides Primark back in August (yes, I bought this in August), I just had to buy it. I adore how light pink and white look together. So to match my pink and white theme, I wore my pink slip on plimsolls from Topshop, they're super comfy. I love this outfit, so simple yet so cute.

Bobble Hat - Primark
Long Sleeved Top - H&M
White Skinny Jeans - New Look
Slip On Plimsolls - Topshop

The Perfect Duo for the Party Season

next sparkle azure review

I actually got these as presents for my birthday back in June. But, recently trying them out for the first time ever, I have figured that this duo is perfect for the party season and the night life. Firstly, can I just point out how pretty the blue coloured design is? I love how both the perfume and the body mist bottle transition from dark blue through to light blue. So pretty!

Sparkle Azure Eau de Parfum-
I'm not great at describing smells hence why I don't write many perfume reviews. But, I like to try my best. If only I could spritz it through the screen to you, it'd be so much easier. Let's be honest, with the technology nowadays, in about ten years, it may be possible. The perfume is a sweet, florally scent which really isn't that strong. With aquatic and white musk notes, it smells really fresh. I feel like many people would either love or hate this perfume. Whilst the scent doesn't last for too long, you'd have to re-spray it throughout the day/night.

Sparkle Azure Shimmer Body Mist-
The perfumes scent is more intense than the mist although it does have a very similar smell. When I first saw this, I was obsessed with how shimmery it was in the bottle. Once sprayed onto the skin, the amount of shimmer is just right, there's not too much or too little. Also, when you're under the right kind of light, your skin looks so pretty sparkling away.

The 'I Don't Know What to Buy Him' Gift Guide

I can't be the only one that struggles every year when buying gifts for men. I think that they're the hardest people to buy for, especially when your boyfriend has his birthday three weeks before Christmas. Yep, that's right, I have to think extra hard about what to buy him as I have to buy double the gifts. I normally buy the men in my life the usual slippers, socks, DVDs and jeans. Although, this year I really want to get them something different. It doesn't help when they don't give you any ideas either, sound familiar? Argh. So, after spending ages seeking the internet for something other than the usual yearly gifts, I have managed to put together this gift guide for birthdays and Christmas.

gift ideas for my boyfriend

My boyfriend usually plonks his TV remote, earphones, his phone etc on the floor when he goes to sleep. This bedside pocket is fantastic to just keep everything together. A portable charger is always handy in case they forgot to charge their phone the night before or if they have a long day ahead. If the men in your life like music or comedy acts then why not buy them a ticket to go see their favourites live? I have also included an LED charging docking station for xbox controllers. So instead of charging the battery packs, you just place the controller on the dock and it charges.

1. Bedside Pocket from Menkind - £14.99
2. Pocket Powerbank from Find Me A Gift.co.uk - from £12.99
3. Cushioned Footbed Socks Pack of 5 from Next - £12
4. Adidas Gazelle Trainers from Schuh - £75
5. Get tickets from Ticketmaster
6. Twin LED Docking Station for Xbox One Controllers from Game - £14.99
7. Cosmetic Lad Moisturiser from Lush - £14.95

gift ideas for men blog post

I love the gift sets from The Body Shop, this shaving kit will come in handy and it's such a good price for the products included (maca root shave cream, maca root razor relief and a cruelty-free shaving brush). I mentioned the Hugo Boss perfume in last years gift guide too, it's so popular and every man seems to love it. Wallets seem to be such a common gift but my boyfriend has had his for around three years and it's quite flimsy and old now. They'll always come in use even if they don't need a new one just yet.

I loved the idea of this manicure set in Topman, I just had to include it. It's just a perfect extra little gift, what guy doesn't want to have a good mani? If one of the men in your life is a gamer guy then why not buy him a new controller? They're certainly not cheap but he'll be incredibly happy. A watch is always a great present (if you have the money). Maybe I wouldn't buy this for Christmas but for a birthday, I definitely would. Also, how cute is this Superman mug!?

8. Modern Gents Shaving Kit from The Body Shop - £20
9. Hugo Boss 'Boss The Scent' from The Perfume Shop - £47 for 50ml or £54.99 for 100ml
10. Black Signature Italian Leather Wallet from Next - £25
11. Cut Above the Rest Manicure Set from Topman - £20
12. Xbox One Wireless Controller from Game - Was £49.99 Now £39.99
13. Emporio Armani Watch from The Watch Shop - £127
14. Disney Grumpy Pyjamas from George at ASDA - £12
15. The Little Book of Drinking Games from Topman - Was £6 Now £4.80
16. Superman Shaped Mug from Find Me a Gift.co.uk - £8.99

The Body Shop - Seaweed Face Wash Review

the body shop seaweed face wash review

I have been searching for a fantastic face wash that actually works and that makes a difference to my skin. After seeing this highly recommended product for oily to combination skin on The Body Shops website, I was determined to try it out.

I adore the smooth, sleek packaging and it simply tells you what the product is and what it's for - right up my street! It's oil free and soap free which is perfect for oily and sensitive skin. I use this face wash with my spin for perfect skin spin brush, unless I'm sleeping somewhere other than home, I just use my hands. It is a very gentle product and it smells absolutely amazing.

This gel makes it super easy to cleanse the skin and you can definitely see the difference before and after. It instantly leaves you shine-free, yay! Your skin also looks perfectly mattified and it doesn't dry out your face or give you that tight feeling like other face wash products.
Overall, it cleanses the skin so well, which is just what I need. £7 is such a good price for such a good product.

Memories of Growing Up Online...

growing up online

Having a computer in my house since a young age (yes, I had one of those old huge white ones), I have many memories of using a PC that I'll never forget. So, I've put together a list of what I can remember growing up online.

Forever dreaming to be an HC
Habbo Hotel was my favourite game of all time! At the age of twelve, my best friend at the time signed me up to it. I always wanted to pay to be an HC because I was fed up of being called a norm/noob all the time. I wanted the nice HC clothes and the plaited hair, who didn't? I played this game for a few years after, honestly, I was addicted. I queued up to meet Olly Murs on this virtual game three hours before he was due on. (It was legit by the way, it was actually him). I was right at the front of the stage in this virtual room. TEN minutes before he was about to come in the room, my computer crashed. When I turned it back on, I had to log back in and I was in a queue of around 200 other habbos to get into the room. I was gutted.

The one thing that used to bother me was finally winning a game of falling furni and then the owner kicks you from the room and you receive no prize. Habbo Hotel was crawling with scammers.

What's ur addy?
The most famous phrase back at school. Honestly, MSN will always be better than WhatsApp and Skype put together. Remember writing song lyrics or putting your new boyfriends name in your status with a heart emoticon next to it? Me too. You always used to ask your mates if they were 'coming on' after school. Signing in and out to grab your crushs attention. And nudge spamming your best mate when they say 'brb'. I can hear the nudge sound right now. Oh and remember inviting loads of people to a group chat and pretending it wasn't you, everyone used to say 'omg who was that?'

Sharing the luv
Oh Bebo, what happened? I was devastated when they shut this down. It will always be better than Facebook. Remember changing your skin every other day? You could only share the luv three times a day when commenting on peoples walls. Who else remembers re-arranging their top friends every so often? You had to be careful doing this as you could get on the wrong side of your friends very quickly. Also your 'other half' was your bff, obvs.

Forever passing on chain mails..
So if it wasn't MSN, it was emails. You and your friends used to send eachother simple emails like 'Heey, how r u?' changing the colour of the font to pink. And those chain mails that your pals used to send you, oh em gee. Don't deny it, you've passed a few on in your lifetime. Honestly, I thought I was gonna get murdered at midnight by a girl with a knife numerous times. I then had to forward it on to ten of my friends so I wouldn't die. Then, you get another one a few days later but this time, 'your mums going to die tonight if you don't forward this to five ppl' in big red bold font. It wasn't until I finally freaked out and my mum told me to ignore them as they're fake. Well, I'm still alive.

Making the 'best' website
I can't count how many websites I made on Piczo. I had as many flashing pictures I could find. Having a song from YouTube on your homepage just made your website complete. Who doesn't wanna listen to Akon every time they visit your site? You and your friends always competed with eachother and left comments on your friends sites from school saying 'love ur site xx'

Trying to beat classmates scores on Cubefield
If you didn't play this in ICT class back in year 7, where were you? Is this even still about? Making sure to get all your work done so in the last ten minutes of the lesson, you and your classmates can play a game of Cubefield and shout across the class what your highest score is.

What are your best memories of you growing up online?

Shaaanxo Palette Review & Swatches

shaaanxo palette review

I was so excited when the postman delivered this, as soon as I shut the door I shrieked. The palette costs $22 (£17.63) but I bought it for £11 as it was at a discounted price. I then paid for shipping and handling which cost me £7.65. So overall, I paid an amazing price for this palette and it arrived within ten days of ordering, impressive. I'm sure everyone and their parents know who Shaaanxo is, need I explain?
The palette itself is so pretty, pink and girly. It has two sides - one side contains 9 lipsticks and the other side contains 9 eyeshadows. Both sides also have a mirror, which I love! The lids are magnetic too, so you won't have a problem of them flipping up and your palette getting dirty.

I adore these eyeshadows, as soon as I saw them I knew that I'd wear every shade. They're extremely pigmented and they come out how they look in the palette apart from one, the first one on the third row. It comes out a lot lighter than it looks in the palette. But, as it's a shimmer wet your brush first and the colour may look more true to itself once applied. With a mixture of 4 mattes and 5 shimmers, I'm happy. They're all easy to blend which is always a good thing and they're very light and easy to apply.

Before I managed to take pictures of the palette for this post, my sister decided to help herself and try one of the lipsticks out. As you can tell, she weren't discreet about it and I weren't happy. Having lipsticks in a palette threw me back to being eleven years old again. Except, when we had those 'cheap' palettes, the colours were very misleading. They always came out so much lighter than they looked in the palette AND they all looked the same colour.

My first impression of these were that they looked way too bright for my liking. Well, my opinion changed shortly. After swatching each one, I don't think there was one I didn't love. The consistency of these are super creamy, thick and oily. BH Cosmetics states that you may see small droplets of natural oils appear on the surface of the lipsticks. This is completely normal due to the ingredients. Simply swirl your lip brush on the products surface to mix them back in. I love that they're oily and creamy as they apply so well.

What you see is what you get with these lipsticks. Every one is true to colour. They also last ages - until you eat or drink. The darker colours do stain but you can eventually get rid of the stained lip. Again, these are so pigmented. I love this palette, I can see me using this everyday if I wanted to. Shannon has picked a great choice of colours of lipsticks and eyeshadows for everyones liking. Buy the palette here.

6 Things I Tell Myself Over & Over Again...

1. DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF YOU
I tell myself this ALL the time, obviously, I don't listen to myself enough. I care about what people think of me so much, I always have. I'm always worried about people judging me on how I look or what I'm wearing. I shouldn't let that get to me at all.

2. DON'T WORRY ABOUT EVERYTHING
I am a huge worrier. I worry about anything and everything that's going on.

3. FORGET THE PAST
I constantly bring back memories and wonder how I could've done things differently, and how I could've changed what I was doing at the time. But, there's no point getting yourself down about the past. It can't be changed, just move on and focus on the future.

4. STOP TRYING TO PLEASE PEOPLE
I've tried to please people my whole life. Let's be honest, who hasn't? Not everyone will like you, so don't try your hardest to please them. Just be yourself. They'll either like you as you are or they won't. Simple.

5. DON'T DO ANYTHING YOU DON'T WANT TO DO
This makes you seriously unhappy, trust me. Don't do it because someone says you have to. Don't do it because you think you have to. If you don't want to do something, then don't do it.

6. YOU'RE STRONG
I have been through so much in my life, and most of the tough times I've had are recent. When I'm having a down day, I have to tell myself that I am strong and that I will get through it, eventually.

I tell myself these six things all the time, but I just can't seem to adapt to them. I'm so much better than I was, and that's the main thing. I am determined to overcome them, hopefully the new year will be it.
